Recipe- Nut Free Oatmeal Bars


The easiest back to school snack, nut free. These are a perfect lunch box treat for kiddos or adults, on-the-go breakfast or pre-workout snack. They are no bake, 3 ingredients and little mess, also PEANUT FREE, made with WOW spread.



This original recipe is directly from the WOW Butter site, but I made a slight modification and added a chocolate roof on top! Also, remember this is a super versatile recipe and you can add additional toppings mixed in or on top, or just follow the basic recipe and keep it simple.


What is WOW BUTTER? It is a nut-free spread, made of roasted soy beans, and contains no hydrogenated oils. It is crafted to provide the same amount of calories, protein, and fat as peanut butter, but is nut-free.


INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups large flake rolled oats

  • 1/2 cup maple syrup

  • 1 cup crunchy WOW butter spread

DIRECTIONS

  1. In a large bowl mix WOW butter and maple syrup until smooth

  2. Stir in oats and additional toppings if you desire

  3. Press into a 8 x 8 parchment lined baking dish

  4. Let set in the freezer for 15 minutes

  5. Melt the chocolate in the microwave, 30 seconds at a time and stir with a spoon until completely melted, but not burnt

  6. Remove the bars from the freezer and while still cold, pour the chocolate on the top, smoothing with the spoon, freeze for 30 minutes until completely solid, cut into squares
